Our Mission
Kehilat Moreshet Avraham, a center for pluralistic Judaism in southeast Jerusalem, is celebrating its 50th year in 2023-2024. 50 years of Torah, prayer and chessed. 50 years of inclusive Jewish life, offering a Judaism of justice and hope for the residents of Talpiot-Arnona Mizrach neighborhoods. While we are proud of our past achievements, we also looked to the future, and to the challenges of the existence of a diverse and egalitarian religious community in our area. Read more...
Our story
For over fifty years the Kehilat Moreshet Avraham has been growing strong roots everywhere. Like our father Abraham who planted a tree in Beer Sheva, we built a center where everyone who is tired comes to revive their soul. This is how we respond to his legacy and build his community so that it responds to the needs of the members and society, to the needs of the local public – that we know how to raise a voice of faith for healing and connection in Jerusalem, in Israel and in the Jewish world.
Programs and Activities

Beit Midrash: Learning Opportunities
Joint study is an important component of the community experience at Moreshet Avraham. In every prayer we combine a sermon, and in addition offer frameworks for study, deepening and getting to know the richness of the sources.

Dor L'Dor: An Incubator for Young Judaism
Throughout the year, KMA provides activities, educational plays, and special events for families around the Hebrew calendar. We are dedicated to our common future and seek to foster and expand programs for children and families.

Preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah
A journey of acquaintance and encounter with the Jewish bookcase, the prayer, the tallit and the tefillin, and the values of kindness and morality to which the Jewish tradition aspires. The rabbis accompany the family before and during the ceremony and build the sermon together with the bar/bat mitzvah.

NOAM Youth Movement (Jerusalem Talpiot-East)
NOAM, the youth movement of traditional Judaism, is a pan-Israeli organization that maintains multifaceted community life throughout the country while emphasizing an inclusive and pluralistic Jewish identity. We are proud of the educational work of NOAM Talpaz and are happy about the cooperation.
