The Kehila starts holding t’filot in people’s homes in 1973.

1976 • The Kehila takes the name “Kehilat Moreshet Avraham”

1980 • Close to 50 people attend Rosh Hashana services; over 70 attend on Yom Kippur

1982 • Moreshet Avraham moves to the shelter of the local supermarket in Armon Hanatziv

            Moreshet Avraham meets at the local community center in Armon Hanatziv

1983 • First Tisha B’ Av services held on the Tayelet in Jerusalem

1988 • Jerusalem Municipality allocates land in Ma'alot Moriah for Kehilat Moreshet Avraham

1990• Kehilat Moreshet Avraham hosts over 400 at Rosh Hashana services

1990 • Cornerstone laying for new synagogue building 

1995 • Move to the new building on Adam Street

1995 • Rabbi Howard Markose becomes first Rabbi of the Kehila

1996 • First Bar Mitzva celebration held at Moreshet Avraham’s new synagogue 

1996 • Noam Talpaz begins at Kehilat Moreshet Avraham

1997 • Chug Rikma is started

2000 • Bayit Cham program is launched

2000 • The Kehilat Moreshet Avraham Gan opens its doors

2001 • Rabbi Barry Schlesinger becomes Rabbi of the Kehila 

2003 • Rabbi Irving Block Jewish Film Series is launched   

2013 • Moreshet Avraham celebrates 40 years, honoring Rabbi Melvin Serner, Enid Wurtman, and Sarah Lewis

2014 • Rabbi Yosef Kleiner becomes Rabbi of the Kehila

2017 • Gala event for Rabbi Reuven Hammer

2019 • Gala event for Danby Meital

2020 • Raba Amirit Rosen and Rabbi David Goodman become Rabbis of the Kehila. Learning Circles at the community gardens during COVID-19 pandemic

2021 • Launching PRI, a KMA program collecting food for the needy. Nursery for toddlers opens its doors

2022 • Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) celebration honoring Jac and Diane Friedgut

2022 • Dedication of Dor L’Dor, a project for “Young Judaism”

2023 • An educational response during the "Iron Shield" conflict, with daily programs for neighborhood children in Kehilat Moreshet Avraham’s shelter

2024 • 50th Gala Celebration of Kehilat Moreshet Avraham honoring Rabbi Benji and Judy Segal
