Beit Midrash
Learning opportunities
Shared learning is an important component of the community experience at Moreshet Avraham.
In every prayer, we incorporate a sermon, and in addition offer frameworks for studying, deepening, and becoming familiar with the richness of the sources.
Throughout the year, regular and rotating classes are held in Hebrew and English in Talmud and thought.
Series of regular classes delve deeper into a particular source or topic, while studying in a group. Guest lecturers who broaden the horizon find a welcoming community. The class schedule can be found on the monthly calendar.
From generation to generation
Judaism for all ages
In the spirit of Rabbi Aharon Goodman. Every week, Moreshet Avraham provides a children's prayer service that includes singing and entertaining learning. Children participate in the concluding parts of the Shabbat prayer and learn to lead the service.
Throughout the year, Moreshet Avraham provides activities, educational performances, and special events for families around the Hebrew calendar. Since October 7th, we have been hosting ongoing activities for families and children, fostering support and resilience. Each week, we hold a family activity; the atmosphere combines a homelike feel and a connection to tradition. We are dedicated to our shared future and seek to nurture and expand programs for children and families.
Positive and meaningful
Preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs
A journey of familiarization and encounters with the Jewish bookcase, prayer, tallit and tefillin, and the values of kindness and morality that the Jewish tradition strives for. The rabbis accompany the family before and during the ceremony and build the sermon together with the bar/bat mitzvah.
Participants acquire knowledge and orientation about the Jewish tradition in its various branches and the significance of Bar and Bat Mitzvahs.

Kindness in the community
To build a world of grace and charity
Moreshet Avraham is a support network for community members and works for the residents of the neighborhood and Jerusalem. KMA collects food for those in need in the neighborhood. The food is distributed monthly in collaboration with the PRI organization. Special donations for those in need are collected for the holidays of Tishrei, Purim, and Passover. Before Passover, Moreshet Avraham collects leavened bread products from the west of the city and delivers them through the "Kolna" organization to non-Jewish people in need in East Jerusalem. We host blood donation drives and meals for lone soldiers. The community provides a support system for its members in joy and grief.
N.O.A.M. Talpiot ("Talpaz")
Youth movement
The Talpaz branch of NOAM, the youth movement of traditional Judaism, has a vibrant home at Moreshet Avraham. The members ("noamistim") meet twice a week for educational and social events and Shabbat programs throughout the year. KMA has been blessed with vibrant young men and women who are active both in NOAM and in our community. We are proud of NOAM's educational work and are happy about our cooperation.
